A Media sales guys Dairy
sales job - tht looks very nice from outside have been in sales for more than six years now and still when I look back the amount of people I have me and also the kind of responses I get every day, it is a new experience for me. Every individual is different from each other. The key fact is always the mood of the person when you meet him . If he is in a good mood u definitely got the deal otherwise god help you. I have seen tht we can build instant rappot with some of these guys and some time newer. Again so many things like your work environment etc determines how you r in sale that day. But at the end of the day when you look back you know that you have learnt so many things you definitely need to have a good boss who can guide you when u r low and appreciate you when you have done something good, otherwise as a sales guy u will never get motivated. The extra punch you need for sales comes from these two important things.
I have been in the media sales from past 6 years I have worked in newspaper for 3 years then magazines and now radio each medium has his own strengths & weaknesses. But the key thing tht will help u do well in all these places is the appreciation for the work done. Things change every day u need to change every day.
Newspaper selling is the easiest as it is one of the oldest medium then comes magazine followed by radio. Let me see where my next stop will be..........
